A major portion of Lake Crabtree Park, a biking and hiking destination, is quietly going to be developed, lost as a park forever. Here are some ways to try to fight it. Act fast, as it’s apparently closing on June 1, 2025. Here are some things you can do to fight this:
- Submit a comment to the airport authority board: Airport Authority. Let’s flood them with comments! Their next meeting is May 15th at 1:00 p.m. Attend and let them know what you think about this.
- Submit comment on May 19th to the Wake County Commissioners. Their next meeting is May 19th at 2:00 p.m. At 9:00 a.m. on May 19th, you can submit a comment to them or sign up to speak at the meeting. Wake County Commissioners. Let’s flood them with comments!

- If people wish to get on the mailing list, some friends created an email address protectourparknc@proton.me . This will be a community led initiative called Protect Our Parks NC, where we will fully dedicate the effort to protect Lake Crabtree County Park from RDU Airport from now through June 1 (and hopefully succeed).
